New Material

product marketing and strategy to help brands feel more human

Hi I’m Mia!

I get brought in when the bet is big and the problem is hard.

For 14 years I've been the person who takes a rough idea and makes it new and material. In a world that’s loud and disconnected, I help some of your favorite brands make things make sense

My work at Hinge, Cash App, Google, and many startups can be described as culturally fluent, emotionally intelligent, and annoyingly ambitious.

Now I offer fractional, full-stack product marketing leadership for a small number of companies at a time across marketplace business, AI, fintech, CPG, and emerging materials.

Why me?

My best work lives at the intersection of messy social problems then translating them into stories that people remember.

Some of the questions I've been hired to answer:

  • “Can we thoughtfully bring AI into dating, one of the most jaded categories, at people's most vulnerable moments?” (Hinge, 2025)

  • “When a teen and their parent first talk about money at the dinner table, where do we fit in?” (Cash App, 2024)

  • “Will people ever get comfortable speaking out loud and personifying a hardware speaker?” (Google, 2018)

I live at 0→1. I’ve consistently been hired for new initiatives — not just "early stage" but the genuinely uncharted stuff before the category exists, before the behavior is proven, before anyone knows if it'll work.

How I can help

  • You’re working on something big, and you need to get it right. I uplevel the thinking and push on the why, so your product can show up with emotional intelligence and clarity. Think true 0→1, early product development, pivots, and (my personal favorite) blue sky briefs.

  • Your product is great, but your messaging and identity may sound like everyone else’s. I sharpen the positioning and translate your product magic into stories that people remember.

  • You need a launch lead and your process is too scrappy to scale. I bring launches across the finish line and build systems that actually get adopted. Sometimes that's a buttoned up launch playbook. Sometimes it's a single doc with clear principles.

  • You’re growing, but people aren’t coming back. Before you spend a dollar on paid campaigns, I audit the entire product experience and define and build what needs change.

  • Your product marketing team is early, and the function is taking shape. I bring the strategic depth and work with nimble teams to build the right habits and infrastructure so PMM becomes a function everyone wants in the room.

Want to work together?

Tell me what you’re building. We’ll figure out the rest.
